I came across this site when searching for information re "Dracula's" castle. What I have found has been much more than what I expected. Aspects of my being that I thought were dead have come to the surface. And I have come to realize that if I don't radically change my life, then I will waste what's left of it.
When you came in the air went out.
And every shadow filled up with doubt.
I don’t know who you think you are,
But before the night is through,
I wanna do bad things with you.
from True Blood theme song by Jace Everett
Swem nie von liebe leit geschach,
dem geschach ouch liep von liebe nie.
Translation: He who never had the sorrow of love never had the joy of it either!
The following three pictures are from Hieronymous Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights". I had a copy of this framed about 16 years ago and it hangs behind my desk. Even after years of looking at it almost every day, I still find something new every time I study it. I have included links above for those who might want to see more of Bosch's works. Bosch was born in the Netherlands in 1450 and died in 1516, and little is known about his life or his philosophy.
My talents as a painter are limited, but that has not stopped me from trying. Below are a few examples of my work, which I have modified to comply with VR's terms of service.
This first painting has been unfinished for over 20 years. This is a woman who I have dreamed of but never met. And I always wonder whether she is pulling those pants up or down.
This next painting and the graphic that follows it is of a woman who I will always love.
These next three ladies were all delightful, but I have lost track of them.
This is of my wife in all of her phases, painted years before I met her in the real world.
And finally, my one and only landscape. This was created by painting a beautiful redhead, then painting the landscape behind her, then painting over the beautiful woman. In hindsight, it was a lot better painting with the beautiful redhead.
